Storage Conditions
Temperature: Storing THRIVE at a high temperature can significantly increase the speed that calories and vitamins will degrade over time. In the correct storage container, low-moisture foods such as THRIVE can be stored at room temperature or cooler (75 degrees Fahrenheit or lower) and remain nutritious and edible for years. Our stated shelf life assumes that the product will be stored in optimal conditions.
Humidity: The effects of humidity on a closed can are caused by heat and very similar to the effects of high temperature (see above). High humidity can corrode the cans and in some cases even cause the cans to leak. Areas with high humidity can reduce the opened shelf life of the product. As humidity varies with location please use your own discretion to prevent possible sickness from eating spoiled food.
Damaged Container: Minor dents in the center of the can are usually just a cosmetic issue. However, a can that has been dented near or on a seam can have a compromised air-tight seal and allow oxygen to enter the can. If this is the case we recommend using the dented can within the specified opened shelf life, rather than closed.
The best way to maintain the highest quality of your THRIVE products is to take care of them. If you intend on storing your food for the sealed shelf life, store the cans in a place that is not open to elements such as water, light, and air. Take care of it. Don't expose it unnecessarily to the elements. Also, be sure to keep the temperature and humidity low and even. Under these proper storing situations your THRIVE will maintain its delicious taste, natural coloring, and proper nutrients.

crowd pleaser
We made some chicken salad for our friends and they didn't realize it was made with freeze dried food until we said something. It was definitely a winner at the party as the whole bowl was gone within 20 minutes.

fast
The chopped chicken is very fast to work with and once seasoned has a good flavor. My only dislike was we found several pieces of hard chicken either from skin or fat.

This is the product that sold me on Thrive
We eat chicken a lot but I don't trust what I find in our local grocery stores. The Thrive chicken is excellent quality, great taste and is perfect for fast, filling meals. I keep some at work with rice noodles and peanut sauce to make myself a bowl of yummy Pad Thai when I don't pack my lunch.

Great
I've been trying to use our food storage in our everyday meals to become familiar with it. I made chicken enchiladas with this this and they were great. No one would have known it was freeze dried chicken if I hadn't told them.

Is it fresh or freeze dried?
This is a great product. However, after saying that I will make a few helpful suggestions. As is it 100% breast meat it can be very dry, and since it isn't seasoned it can also be very tasteless too. To take care of both of these VERY MINOR issues just reconstitute it by simmering it in either chicken broth, or water with bullion mixed with it. Done in this manner you HONESTLY can NOT tell the difference between 'fresh' or freeze dried breast meat. It is especially good in soups, stews, chicken & dumplings, casseroles, chicken salad, chicken egg rolls, etc. You name it, and it is GREAT in it. We use it ALL THE TIME, and you really cannot tell that it's ever been freeze dried at all (unless you just try using/eating it by itself right after reconstituting it in only plain water. Then, like I said before, it will be pretty tasteless, and very dry). I hope this review has helped out a little

Outstanding
We buy canned chicken chunks from Costco for chicken salds, etc - this stuff is every bit as good or better!

SO EASY!!
It's so easy to add a cupful in a casserole, salad or soup--without having to go through the hassle of thawing/cooking (though I do suggest reconstituting it). Everyone is shocked when I tell them the chicken is food storage! There's no added flavors, so you'll need to add your own salt/seasoning.

A Must Have
I made a version of the chicken salad recipe on the can and it was gone in no time. We've also used it in soup. It's so easy to prepare, and tastes better than the canned chicken we used to buy.

Terrific
I made a wonderful chicken salad with this product and no one had a clue that it was not made with fresh chicken. Even my daughter who is picky about textures in her food.
I also made chicken soup and it was great.
I recommend this product.Quality
